Why music lessons?
Music involves learning a different language, memory, imagination, and discipline. It exercises both the mind and body and gives you a set of creative skills that can help you do and feel better at any age in life. Students do better in school, develop social skills as they work with other musicians, and are exposed to history and culture in a unique and immediate way. Adults enhance mobility and memory, experience a regular learning activity, and gain a creative way to express themselves.

What is involved in taking a lesson online?
- You will need to have a device equipped with a camera, a video app such as Zoom or Skype, and a decent quality microphone and speakers, and a large enough screen so that your instructor and you can both see and hear each other.
- Lessons online may require zooming in on hand positions or watching videos outside of lessons to help build skills and provide clarification of techniques.
- A virtual instructor will be unable to position your hands or mirror you to demonstrate technique, so attentiveness to detail and active participation in the lesson can be more intensive than a traditional lesson.
